When I open WP X4 dialog boxes says: Document 0 backup exists, I click open; says the filed cannot be found, I click ok,

says Unable to open the backup file E:\astofi\wp{wp}.bk0, I click ok and I finally get to the blank document screen.

How can a  keep WP from doing all this so I can just get a blank document screen when I open WP X4?

This hasn't happened to me for a while, but I think this is what I did to resolve the problem: I located my backup directory and changed the file name to wp{wp}.bk1

Clean out your Temp folder.  CCleaner.exe can make that easier.

However, changing one letter in the file extension on one file is a lot easier and less disruptive than monkeying with the Temp folder! And it works!
