Set default one space following period

I use WP4 with OS-Windows XP SP2. I'm a writer and editors now want all submissions to have only one space after a period instead of the old method of two. How do I format under tools to make this a default setting?

Tools > QuickCorrect  > Format-As-You-Go> and select that option>OK
