Suddenly the header/footer toolbar has stopped appearing when I create a header or footer.  How do I get it back?  It's not listed in the View>Toolbars menu!  I'm using WPF X4, and, frankly, considering the problems I've had with it, I'm seriously considering going back to Version 10.

Kenneth, read your reply to another user and now I have a question.

When I select property bar I do not get a header/footer toolbar. This toolbar is referenced in wp's help section and even shows a picture of several of the buttons. It is nonexistant on my property bar.

I thought it might be due to the version I was using   wp12 home edition   but I went on wp's sight and took the latest version of x4 standard for a test drive. It doesn't show on it either.

Any ideas?

The Propertybar is only active when you are in the substructure AND you have it checked as I explained earlier.  If the View is set to Draft, you won't see headers or footers at all.

Sorry, but what is substructure? and where do I check? View is not in draft.

I have been able to at least look at the header toolbar under tools>settings>customize. But when I close that window the toolbar disappears.

Tim, Kenneth is referring to the fact that you have to be "inside" the header or footer (the substructure) before the property bar will appear. IOW, you must be editing the header or footer.
