Looking for macro users or wannabees

Hi Folks,

We have been trying to make things easier for people to learn and work with WordPerfect Office.  One of the areas we are working on is macros - and we are revamping the documentation to try to make it easier for people to understand and work with WordPerfect to make their repetitive tasks easier.

We are looking for some volunteers (either those interested in learning about macros or those already familiar who may have opinions on macros) to check out our latest documentation revisions.  We'd love to have your feedback on what works for you and what you may suggest to make the documents better.

If you are interested drop me a private note or reply in this thread.

Cheers,

Jay

I can look at them if you like.

Putting a menu with subcategories like LotusScript does might be handy for new users.

If you added the dropdown list using the period as older versions did it would simulate what VBA does using Intellisense.

This is great folks.  Thank you all for volunteering.  I will give it until the end of this week to see if others want in and then maybe spawn off another thread and invite you into that.

Cheers,

Jay

You should contact J Dan Broadhead, the best explainer of PerfectScript the world has ever known.  All he ever did was write the language in the first place.

I just found this thread - I'd be interested in helping out - I've written  a few thousand lines of code and use an extensive document assembly/creation suite of macros I developed to generate home inspections reports....

Hi Folks

I have created a new forum on the site which just you have access to.  It is called PerfectScripters.  Gord (our Doc captain for this) has already sent out a message to folks.  Please join him in this area.

Regards,

jay

I have used macros for document preparation to run the merge.  For the data file I prefer to use a relational database because I have more flexibility in default entries for information and limiting choices or selecting from multiple choices.  I can even create a query from multiple tables.  I also like to use macros for standard language in a letter and to open up a blank letter on stationary.  I would like to learn more about macros.

I'd like to join this group. I have been working on a couple of macros with commands that have no or very little explanation of how they work so I'm left with time consuming trial and error.

Sorry to be so late in answering your note... Do count me in. I write simple macros to speed up my work flow...

As my time permits, I'd be interested in contributing.
